Not known

Have you ever read this while researching something? For example, "Cause of death, UNKNOWN." or, "There is NO KNOWN cure." Reading this, we can become discouraged. I've even caught myself saying, "Well, there's nothing I can do. Whatever will be, will be." And, I'll admit, I have struggled with this thought, "What can I do? Well, if something turns out good, that's great. But, I'm not expecting anything." Then, when I stop to think about it, there really is NOTHING that I can do. Until recently, thoughts of complacency and failure would plague my mind. Then, a good friend told me this. She told me that the main issue is trust, just to trust. Do I trust that God knows what is best? Do I trust that He will not hurt me? Do I trust that He really work everything out for good? Then, when I thought about it, I added, "Do I believe that God KNOWS?" The trust is the issue. Not whether He WILL or Not. That's up to God. It's just my job to RELY and TRUST on Him. Salvation was only the beginning. Just simple trusting.

Simply trusting every day;
Trusting through a stormy way;
Even when my faith is small,
Trusting Jesus, that is all.Trusting as the moments fly,
Trusting as the days go by,
Trusting Him, whate'er befall,
Trusting Jesus, that is all.
Brightly doth His Spirit shine
Into this poor heart of mine;
While He leads I cannot fall,
Trusting Jesus, that is all.
Singing if my way be clear,
Praying if the path be drear;
If in danger, for Him call,
Trusting Jesus, that is all.
Trusting Him while life shall last,
Trusting Him till earth is past,
Till His gracious advent call
Trusting Jesus, that is all.

The Promise of Death - my poem!

She knew she was going to die
There was nothing she could do.
There was nowhere she could go,
The winds of death over her blew.

She remembered that day
How peaceful it had been
Her family was there,
When the soldiers came in

How they had prayed
To the true and living God
Yet still the soldiers
In her home had trod

The beating and scorn from them came
To her and her family that day
Then the gunshot that followed, allowed to flow
The flood of tears she’d held at bay.

Her father was gone
He died Lying in his blood
That flowed through the cracks
Of the floor made of wood

Her mother and she were led
To a place where they would stay
Along with everyone else of the same birth
“The Jews, They will pay!”

There were so many
Never enough to eat
Sometimes even a piece of bread
Was a perfect treat.

She did not know how much longer
She could bear
To see the bodies of children
In the streets, lying there

Then her day came
She saw the firing squad lift their guns
Yet it seemed that only she saw them
She yelled for everyone to run

O, why had she run
Like a coward that day
She had survived. But she saw
That death made people pay

She saw broken bodies and limbs
In the streets of the ghetto there
Men, women and children
It was more than she could bear

Somehow she watched
As death came closer to her
Time and time again through the war
Of only one thing she was sure

That death was not pretty
It was unbearable
There was nothing glorious or honorable
And no death was desirable

Yet that day had finally come
It was her turn to die
Yet her only regret was that
Before, death had passed her by

Why she would have loved to know
Did I survive while others fell?
She came to the conclusion
That she was others to tell

To tell that war was not lovely
And to tell the story of horror
To tell the story of others
That lived in fear and terror

To describe the feelings for hunger
And the torture pains
To illuminate to those on the outside
Those lives that on the inside were slain

But when death came to knock on her door
She was ready to die
She had no say in anything
But, she was ready to say goodbye

Death had finally come
And she gladly allowed to be taken
To the place of her death
But she knew she was not forsaken

She knew she was going to die
There was nothing she could do.
There was nowhere she could go,
The winds of death over her blew.

She was gone, only her body remained
There, in the forgotten hole
Death had finally come
And had taken its toll

Yet there in heaven she stood
Watching those who had gone before
And death was down on earth
Spinning its likely lore

The lore that death, that it
Was the end
That death
Was the last bend

Then, from up in the sky
She smiled and said
Death, where is thy sting
For we are not dead

We live here as if you never held
Such power and fear
Over us. Here we have everything
Everything we held dear

Everything that you from us took
The lives of family and friends
O, readers, I tell you
That death is not the end.

Better

I have no idea what the actual music is to this, but I love the words. I think that this is my poem for the summer!

I thought I did whats right
I thought I had the answers
I thought I chose the surest road
But that road brought me here

So I put up a fight
And told you how to help me
Now just when I have given up
The truth is coming clear

You know better than I
You know the way
Ive let go the need to know why
For you know better than I

If this has been a test
I cannot see the reason
But maybe knowing I dont know
Is part of getting through

I try to do whats best
And faith has made it easy
To see the best thing I can do
Is put my trust in you

For You know better than I
You know the way
Ive let go the need to know why
For you know better than I

I saw one cloud and thought it was a sky
I saw a bird and thought that I could follow
But it was you who taught that bird to fly
If I let you reach me will you teach me

For You know better than I
You know the way
Ive let go the need to know why
Ill take what answers you supply
You know better than I

Faith

Faith is not believing that God can; it is knowing that God will.

How true a statement, but how difficult to believe. When the trials of life seem to surround, and there is nothing to relieve the pain, we show how much faith is real in our lives.

Hebrews 11
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
For by it the elders obtained a good report.
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.
By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.
By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.
By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.
Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
(Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

Pointing To Christ

Maybe I am just different, but, when I see someone hurting, I can't help but feel the hurt. Watching the different ways they react to normal life, listening to the hurt in their voice, and seeing the grief that envelopes them just tears at my heart. I wish I could do something; I want to take the pain away. Yet, when it really comes down to it, the grief really is just life. God places things in people's paths to uplift them and to show Himself strong in their weakness. I could never do anything to relieve the pain, but, when I point them to Christ. God is the Great Comforter, the Shepherd, and the Giver of Life. Christ can do so much more than I could. I only can pray that through the trial they will look to Christ, and learn to trust Him.

The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;

EXCERPT

I thought that some of you might like to read an excerpt from my book. I would love to give an overview of the book, but there are so many plot lines going throughout the book. I think that hopefully this will wet your appetite for the whole thing, which I hope to get published.

Lizzie walked over to look. The only thing that she could look at was the title of the document: Annulment of Marriage and Ted’s signature. This could not be true. Ted would never do this. Not the Ted who had stood by her fifteen years ago and vowed never to leave her nor forsake her. Not the Ted who had taken care of her every need. Not the Ted who would hold her tight when nothing seemed right. No, it could not be true. Her whole world seemed to spin, and she could feel tears flooding her eyes. As she looked at her hand, her diamond ring was a mystical dream, a dream that she feared would end in ruin, hurt, and heartache.
